Once again, my "Rockatooter Kazoo Band" will be performing at the Rockaway Beach July 4th 2002 parade. This year the' patriotism' will be upmost in our minds. My fellow band members will be totally immersed in "red, white and blue". It should be awesome. The judges will judge on Patriotism, color and originality. Believe me... we have all three. I'm looking forward to another wonderful, and patriotic 4th of July!! Happy Fourth to all of you!

My new song called, "The Battle For Krispy Kreme" uses a kazoo during the harmony and of course to make the song better! Also I use kazoo's with my storytelling programs.

The Ukulele Ladies and Gents at Lion's Field in San Antonio, Texas introduced the Kazoo at our Christmas Jam and for several holiday performances. We chose Holly Jolly Christmas as our first effort. We plan to include at least one Kazoo song in each of our programs. I am also including the Kazoo in my Ukulele Kids Club. Long Live Kazooie! Joyce

Kid Kazooey is the singin' & swingin' librarian. He performs what he calls StorySinging Dance Music to children of all ages, both as a one man band, and as the leader of his band, The BallRoom Roustabouts. Kid Kazooey and The BallRoom Roustabouts do performances at libraries, schools, music festivals, private parties, and nite clubs. On the kazoo, The Kid displays a mature understanding of his instrument as he plays anything from rag time novelty klezmer to flat out Rock -n- Roll (and some R&B, polkas, and irish jigs...). Kid Kazooey plays the same kazoo he has had for over 5 years with a modified diaphram (instead of wax paper, he uses the plastic liner in cereal bags cut to fit the circle) stuck in a harmonica holder, Bob Dylan style, while also playing either the accordion, or guitar, or banjo, or mandolin, or Fender Rhodes piano, or whatever.
Any Questions?

Shorty Long is a novelty jazz punk band which plays material from Al Jolson to the Misfits, Cliff Edwards to the Ramones. Our lead singer, Mysterious John, plays a mean kazoo on many of our songs. We've been on Dr. Demento and CNN in the last 2 years, and we'll be playing South by Southwest next week. Check out our site and look for us on MP3.com!

THE NIHILIST SPASM BAND
Founded as a kazoo band in London, Ontario in 1965, the Nihilist Spasm Band has played continuously to the present. The 7 member band electrified and amplified early with 5 members branching out to home built or modified instruments like 3 1/2 string bass, Pratt-a-various, guitars, drums and kalimba, there remains just 1 kazooist, John Boyle, abetted on occasion by Japanese drummer/kazooist Aya Ohnishi. The second original kazooist, Greg Curnoe, passed away in 1993. Boyle and Ohnishi have built and had built various kazoos utilizing truck horns, LED and mike pickup, amplification, digital delay, ring modulator, etc. Most recently the NSB has been described as a "noise band", and four "No Music Festivals" have been organized around them with such guests as Hijokaidan, Aube, Mne-Mic, Thurston Moore, Lee Renaldo, Borbetomagus, Ken Vandermark, and Joe McPhee. The most recent festival took place at Tonic in New York, Oct. 2001. Their most recent cd release is a 2 cd set, No Borders on Non Musica Rex with Joe McPhee. Current personnel: John Boyle, kazoo, kalimba, drums; John Clement, guitar, drums; William A. Exley, vocals, unamplified kazoo and found instruments; Murray Favro, guitar, drums; Hugh McIntyre, 3 1/2 string bass; Art Pratten, Pratt-a-various, water pipe (a wind kazoo-like instrument of secret design). Record Company, Alchemy, Osaka, Japan.
